changing forgotten password on iBook G4 800mhz running 10.4

Hi everyone,

my friend has forgotten her password and cannot log in. She is running os 10.4. i told her to insert the original OS CD, restart while holding down the C key and then click on options - change password when it has booted into the original CD. However, it just boots straight to the login screen. Any suggestions on what is happening here? ... please help!!
cheers

try holding down the option key instead, it'll give you a list of bootable drives. this has to be timed correctly too, tell her to press it right after she hears the chime.
