I guess it doesn't do much/anything for machines apart from the SR MBPs...

Does this mean I don't have to download the ndvidia drivers for the new MBP like i had to yesterday?

Is there any way extracting the drivers without burning a disk. Really seems like a waste every time Apple releases an update to BC to burn another CD. I'd rather extract to a flash drive, or better yet put it on my server, and run it from there.

I would like to see an easier way to get the updated drivers directly into windows. Perhaps through the Apple Software Update app that installs with iTunes?

Stupid question... if you've installed Bootcamp already, can you install this update without going through the whole windows installation all over again?

Games.

... oh and the occasional app that isn't available for Mac just yet.

Which, in my experience, aren't worth the effort. If an app (including games) is good enough, it makes it over to the Mac. I love when Windows users slam Macs for a lack of games. To be clear, it's a lack of second-tier games that most people really don't give a crap about.

But, where I see Windows on a Mac being especially useful is in business settings, especially where you have mixed-platform work environments. I'm hoping I can talk my employer into letting me getting a new Mac with Parallels soon, so I can dump my PC and go back to having one computer.

GPS Mapping and routing. I can use DeLorme Street Atlas USA 2008 in my Fusion VM. Route Buddy is way too expensive, and Route 66 has gone the way of the dodo bird.

I noticed this was posted and then the download on Apple's site was still 1.2 =p It was then taken down for like three minutes and now it's up again, haha.

Apple's servers are crawling, though

Why exactly did BootCamp jump 136MB in one revision, though? It's getting to be an awfully ridiculous download.

I'm disappointed not to see "improved wireless keyboard support" on the list. As it stands, my wireless Mighty Mouse works fine in XP, but the keyboard needs a power cycle each time I boot into Windows.

I use mac mini and I have the same problem. Every time the Windows XP reboots, I have to give the keyboard a power cycle.

However I noticed Windows Vista does not have this problem. (Another reason why we should upgrade to Vista? :-))

Now I have good reasons to believe that you don't need to be disappointed.

I have just updated the drivers under Windows XP. The problems, which you mentioned and also happened to my Mac Mini before, now NO LONGER EXIST!!

That's a big thing for me! I love this boot camp update!

I am new to Macs having migrated from a Windows PC to a 20" IMac. Running all the latest OSX updates and have tried Bootcamp 1.3 for the first time. I have a wireless keyboard and wireless Mighty Mouse.

My keybaord is working flawlessly, however the Mighty Mouse does not function following reboot. Power cycling does not connect it. I have to manually go into the Windows Control panel Bluetooth settings, remove the mouse, and reinstall it (every time).

Needless to say, I have left Bootcamp and Windows for the time being, unless anybody can suggest a solution?

Boot Camp Partition

Ok so I just installed Boot Camp on my new MBP and I did an NTFS partition and split the drive 50/50. Everything is working just fine but I had a couple questions that I hope someone can answer.

1. When I was partitioning my drive with Boot Camp I knew I wanted an NTFS partition but I didn't see any way of choosing the size of the partition. It just went straight to a 50/50 split of the hard drive. Did I miss something here? I thought you could fully customize the partition size.

2. After the whole process was over I checked the hard drive sizes in OSX and XP. They both said that they had 74GB capacity (It's a 160 GB HD) but the OSX side said that it only had 50 GB available and that I had used 24 GB, while the XP side says I have 71 GB available. I haven't installed anything else so why would I have 24 GB in use on a brand new computer?
