Looks like parallels v. 3 is out. Grab it before the servers get overloaded.

Perfect! I already have my upgrade key, and cant wait to see how this works.

I can offer a mirror if the servers get slammed.

According to this post on the Parallels Support Forum Coherence will have similar functionality added in a future version of Parallels. And according to this post it will be a free update to Parallels 3.0.

My upgrade key worked grand

Installing ubuntu to see how good Linux Tools are.

It weirdly STILL doesn't have Ubuntu 7.04 under "Supported OSs"

Argh! I got ANOTHER free key, and it didn't work...WTF?

Backup your VMs! The upgrade is not going well for me. Installing Parallels tools into my exisisting VM causes the application to crash, and makes for a startup error.

--update--
Got Parallels Tools installed. After it restarted itself, the computer then kernel panicked.

It passed Direct X 9 Tests!

Thanks for the mirror. Parallels download was going extremely slow from their download link.

I can't wait to try it!

Yes, it is important to backup your VMs and restart Mac OS X after installing Parallels.

Edit: Never mind, the installer automatically restarts Mac OS X.

I am looking forward to VMWare's final release. Every day I use Parallels, I am reminded how bad its UI is.

Oh, this is a pickle.

I purchased my key on May 31st

Hoping they'll give me some leeway, official policy says anyone who bought after May 1st gets a free upgrade

Is an upgrade from the last version free (and easy)?

I just bought a copy of Parallels from the on-line store at Apple on Tuesday - it shipped yesterday and hasn't arrived yet. I assume it will be the older version. Can I upgrade on line after I install or should I just download the new version and do a clean install?

Thanks

OMG.. what a day...

It's all about Windows on Mac today!

Seriously what a gr8 day. Gr8 new rumors, new Boot Camp, and now this.
The most anticipated version of Parallels! And they launched it before the WWDC!
Got my pre-order discount a couple of days ago, so I'll be testing (eh.. read: playing with) this baby coming weekend on my MBP!

Glad to see it's official now - I had been reading about version 3.0 on the Parallels website for several days already. When I get around to buying my new MBP and my new iMac, Parallels will definitely be an essential piece of software for me.

Is this a file mirror you setup yourself? If so did you ask permission to distribute their product? If not you shouldn't have created the mirror... nor should anyone trust what you mirror.

I'm exclusively using Parallels to check out web pages we develop in IE6 and IE7... not sure I'll bother with the upgrade right now...

...unless anyone can provide me with a very good reason or two...

If you have installed it, how is the 3D? Good enough for games?

Because I only use for Windows for games and have been using Boot Camp up until now.

Ok, so far going to Full Screen doesn't work like it used to. It used to set the resolution of the virtual OS to the host OS, now it doesn't. Great!
