My attempted summary:
1. In 1999, the author and others believed that games were just about to get really big on the Mac, but they didn't. 2. WoW and many small casual games are already on the Mac. 3. Only DirectX is fun for gaming. Therefore: 3. There isn't much call to make any more Mac games. This of course assumes that none of the following have changed since 1999: 1. The OS. 2. The processor. 3. The market share. 4. The mindshare. 5. The available porting tools. 6. The kinds of games being made and the kinds of people playing them. I personally feel that ALL of those things have changed since 1999, and continue to improve, so I'm not sure what he's getting at ![]() I will enjoy seeing what does or does not develop with Mac gaming and new versions of OpenGL. Meanwhile, I will somehow manage to have fun playing a LOT more than just WoW on my Mac: UT 2004 UT3 Prey Quake 4 Doom 3 Quake Wars Need For Speed: Carbon And whatever else comes my way
