Who has listened to the new album? Would you recommend it?? I have always liked the Beatles but have never listened to his solo work.

I'm not so sure about this one...

Although I must admit, it is catchy.

Cool Ad

What can you say it's Paul McCartney!

I had forgotten that Apple made iPods too. Just thought the were only making those phone things.

Can't see it in the UK iTunes.

Someone tell Steve Jobs that Fab Macca is British please.

Amazing Ad. Absolutely loved it! Just in time for Summer.

Just curious, but who rated it a negative?

I'd have to agree... it didnt sit well with me.
Plus I liked the older style of the apple iPod/iTunes adds better when they were colorful and clean. The recent caribbean like dance video was ok but was getting a little too busy with all the designs. This one was too distracting with all the random stuff all over the place... its starting to look like a target/macy's mix.

You should try him out. I think his Wings and solo work were better than John's solo stuff.

His eyes do look freaky in the close up of his face. What were they thinking? I liked it, though... He was probably on shrooms.

I, for one, loved it. My favorite iPod ad yet. So fun, colorful, and quirky. In my opinion, his freaky eyes make it even better—he's got character.

His dancing and playing a mandolin is a little too freaky for me.

I know The Great Steve likes the Beatles and all but is the music of a 65 year old man the sort of hip, cool, funky image they want to portray here? I mean, not being rude, it's hardly cutting edge underground stuff is it?

I love the Chuck Taylors he's wearing. It's really cool to see this man, worth more than anyone else in the world it seems, writing great songs and dressing down all the time. He donated a boat of money to company I write for (Humane Society of the US), so I have great respect for the man.

What about the Bob Dylan commercial? I liked that one. And though Paul and Bob are the same age, Bob (and even his music, sadly) have aged poorly in comparison to Paul and the Beatles.

I like his old stuff better. Seriously, I was disappointed that his back catalog on iTunes was not remastered. As best I can tell, the iTunes recordings date back to 1993 when remastering technology was in its infancy.

I'm of the belief that, if Paul could assume a young man's body, his current music would be much more popular. If you consider the best independent bands out there, they sound very similar to Paul's style. Take a look at The Decemberists and John Mayer. Paul's still the best melody maker in modern history.

He looks pretty dorky. However, he's Paul McCartney, and he's still cool even when he's dorky.

As Steve is a big Beatles fan, and even called his company "Apple" as an homage to them, I'll bet he's really thrilled that he's got one of the Beatles in an Apple commercial. Must be a pretty big personal milestone.

I thought it was because MacIntosh was his(or Woz's) favorite apple.
