Seems interesting, but Apple screensaver password security isn't much of a way to secure you're desktop.

I wonder why "5 minutes or more" can crash the password authentication system.

it's a sorta big deal because windows doesn't have a flaw like os x when it comes to password protection and screensavers.
it's not 5 minutes or more, all you have to do is type in garbage, then press ctrl+a, ctrl+k then hold down ctrl+y for 10-40 seconds (depending on how much you typed in)

i think softlogout will repalce any security provided by a screensaver.
