Pull-out menus in Taco?
Hi everyone,
I'm a 13 year old photographer with minimal html experience hand coding my own portfolio site (read: I have no idea what I'm doing with hard core web development). That said, I've been able to take some (necessary) shortcuts. Anyway, I made a PNG of my site's background, navigation, and text and opened it as an image map in Taco. Most links go right to a specific page, but I want my "gallery" link to open out to a pull out menu that gives options to go to 4 different image galleries. I have no idea how to do this. While I do have the 30 day demo of Dreamweaver, I'd like to avoid that because I wouldn't want to get stuck trying to edit the site and not being able to do so because the trial period has expired. Thanks in advance for any suggestions! -Will

You would probably have to use/write some javascript for that. I couldn't help you there but maybe someone else could... an alternative would be to re-think the layout a little bit so that you can find some other place to put the individual gallery links.
On a different note it's considered bad practice to "graphicize" text, although that's not an edict from the gods or anything. Usually it's preferable to just create the links in the necessary places in HTML. Imagemaps have some significant downsides. |
