It is very good that they are standardizing this. Cisco has done this for some years to power their Wireless Access Points over powered ethernet lines to make it easier to place access points without the need for an outlet. This will be really neat if they can standardize power so that we only need one outlet (and no more of these "european adapters") for all of our stuff ..
I'll be the first to jump on this when it happens!
