Freeware Facial Recognition

Hey everybody,
I've been lurking around the forums for quite a while now, but finally registered, and this is my first post.
Anyways, I remember somebody asking why MBP's don't have fingerprint scanners, and that got me thinking that maybe there might be some software that allowed you to use iSights as cameras for facial recognition software, and actually use the results for passwords and stuff. Does anybody know about this?

Thanks

I wouldn't have thought the iSight would have a good enough resolution to be able to do this...

I think the iSight has a good enough resolution but it goes a bit grainy in lower lighting.

Instead of facial recognition, a fun alternative would be hand gestures

I know I am bumping a real old post here, but I was just looking into this same exact thing and would like to find some software like this that's free or at least not too expensive.

Is there any update on this? Is it there yet?

Thanks in advance for any insight.

I would imagine if they had such software, it would be expensive, and the camera, would have to be top quality. However, here is a link for some more info.

I saw a Toshiba laptop advertised with this capability... and that's what sparked my interest. Surely if a Toshiba can do it my new MBP should be able too also.
