Java in Mac: Interface builder + Code Awareness

I currently code Java with IntelliJ, but would prefer Xcode because it is faster.

But considering I am a mediocre programmer at the moment, I rely on IntelliJ's code awareness to alert me to any silliness I might be doing.

1. Is there a Interface builder plugin that does Java code like for Cocoa?

2. Is there a plugin to make Java awareness "smarter"?

For Java development you'd be better using a Java IDE like Eclipse. Java's strength is cross platform code and that is negated when you use Xcode. You used to be able to use Cocoa with Java but that has been depreciated.

Agreed. There is no reason to use XCode for Java development. In fact, you are using what many ubergeeks consider as the best Java IDE made. I personally prefer Eclipse, but Netbeans is really growing on me.
