This is available IF and ONLY IF you fail the credit check such that you will need to have a deposit in order to secure a 2 year contract. It is the cost of the pick your plan option (starts at $30 for 200 minutes, no nights and weekends) plus the $20 for the iPhone data plan. So minimum $50. Up to a maximum of $90 for the 650 min plan and iPhone data.

Yeah, I'm confused to say the least here. Very very odd. Let me see if this is correct:
-Must go through a credit check -If credit is in question, you will have to pony up a deposit ($250?) -If credit is shot, you can pick a prepaid plan and no deposit? Doesn't make sense. I'm stopping by my local store at lunch to sort this out. |

ok guys im pretty sure most people here are NOT att users and will be switching for the iPhone. Someone who really knows and can explain it well, will you explain what the difference is between the orignal plans and this go phone plan. Does this mean you can buy the iphone use it for a month with service then stop. If not, what is the difference between paying like this and having a post paid plan. Basically explain to the people like me, will we be able to use the iPhone without paying huge monthely fees to ATT because of this.
Thanks, Daniel |

If your credit is bad no deposit required
able to choose pick your plan Must change your phone number not allowed to keep your old one. visual voicemail uses data part of device can not separate as of now. Yes, pick your plan is not prepaid cards...must have a checking account or debit card... every month same amount deducted...yes, you can cancel after 1 day 1 month or 3 months... no cancel fees. |

Wow there has been allot of scarcasm on these forums. Some people can't express their opinion without making others feel small.
Hmm, pre-paid? I think it is a great idea, but if you can afford an iphone then chances are, you can afford the deposit and plan. Just a thought, but I could be wrong. |

Getting the iPhone as a pick your plan phone is ONLY an alternative to having to give a deposit. You are required to set up automatic payments for the bill, and the iPhone data plan is a required add on at $20. Bear in mind that the gophone markets are smaller in service area than the regular wireless markets. anyway, plan prices are: $30 for 200 anytime minutes and nothing else (no nights and weekends, etc.) plus $20 for the iPhone plan = $50/mo. $40 for 300 anytime minutes, 1000 night and weekend minutes, + $20 for the iPhone plan = $60/mo. $50 for 400 minutes and unlimited nights and weekends + $20 for iPhone plan = $70/mo. $70 for 650 minutes, unlimited nights and weekends, and unlimited mobile to mobile + $20 iphone plan = $90/mo. Obviously these are a crappy deal compared to the 2 year contract prices, but it's not going to be available to many people anyway. The difference is that you are required to set up automatic payments, and you can't go over the set amount you have. You also can't add things like text packages, etc. And it's possible that AT&T may still make you commit for 2 years on the iPhone data plan, even if the minutes aren't under contract, so it might really not be all that great of an idea. |

To put this into perspective. I use a Verison pre-paid phone. my average cost including the price of the phone and air time is under $10 per month. |

How are they handling current at&t customers both gophone and regular subscriptions?
You would think there would be something in the activation that says are you currently an at&t customer? If so what is your number. With that and some other ID information it would be able to quickly tell if you need a deposit, are just fine to activate or already are a gophone(?) user. Sorry if this has already been covered SOMEWHERE but these threads are getting out of hand... |

Current Customers???
Any word on whether this applies to current AT&T customers. I switched to AT&T 5 months ago failed the credit check and paid the deposit (first and last month fees) will I have to do it again?
