Id say font, seeing as how the letters that are repeated have identical wear on them look at the two Ms or the three As, for example. I couldnt tell you the name of the font in question, though.
It is a pretty generic-looking grunge font. There are thousands of them, all alike in their "uniqueness". Did you need an exact match for this, or just something with the same flavor?

Ok, finally i call the graphic-guy that made the banner.
He said that the font is "DIN" font family.
So, i searched trough myfont.com but it don't seems "DIN" font http://www.linotype.com/306/din1451-family.html
Maybe a graphics effect applied to DIN font ?
bye
Not a simple series of filters, no. It's not that consistent. Notice how the 'B' is distorted, 'A' has an embossed or double-struck effect moving upward, while 'M' has both that upward artifact and a center touching the baseline (which wouldn't be present in 1451). and, 'C' is largely untouched. At least some hand work was done there, either to create a font or just to create enough characters for the image.
