My external harddrive is partitioned so that theres a windows and mac partition and it was working ok for awhile but now only the windows partition is showing up on OSX?

Its coming up but theres an error. I tried verifying then repairing the disk but it says the underlying task reported failure on exit?

I don't think that this'll solve it, but have you tried restarting your Mac and shutting off and then turning back on the external hard drive?
