Hi. Does anyone have any info regarding installing a new CD drive in an iMac G4? Mine just died and was wondering how hard it was to replace it yourself and if it took any special type of drives.

Thanks.

nope just a normal ATA drive, you can probably get a guide of the net on opening it up, most people would tell you to take it to a specialist, but i've opened and replaced items in 3 ibooks using guides, i know they aren't imacs, but it wouldn't be any harder, so i would do it your self, you could pick your self up a DVD-R drive for next to nothing, but make sure it's mac compatible.
i know the Pioneer DVR-110D is compatible.
