I just installed OSX 10.4.x (was on 10.3). I did a clean install of a retail OS. Where's iLife?

It's on your iLife disks, unless you already installed it from there in which case it should be in your applications folder.

I just read online somewhere that the retail 10.4 does not come with iLife.

Can I use the software restore discs that came with my PB (10.3) and just install iLife from there?

Yes and yes. The retail disks do not come with iLife. And yes, you should be able to use your restore disks to install iLife on your computer.

Ok...I wasn't able to just reinstall iLife from my original set up discs. So I reinstalled Panther using the set up discs that came with my PB. Then I installed Tiger selecting "upgrade". Now I have what I need.

Next time try an "archive & install" rather than "update" -- that will preserve everything but what you are updating (Tiger, etc.) Just make sure to check the box for "preserve user settings" or whatever it says (not at the mac now, so can't check to be sure of specific wording).
