is this dock hack possible?

i want to run a GUI app that displays temperature information, but the icon is always in the dock

is there any way to make the app run, but not show up in the dock?

thanks

what app is it? you can use Echidna or Dockless to make an app not show up in the dock, but be warned: menus and menu functions cease to work with either program.
