I'm thinking of purchasing an ibook clamshell. A tangerine 300 mhz model. I'm only going to use it for writing while on the road, so it doesn't need to be a screaming fast machine. However, I don't want it to be slow as a turtle.. Does anyone know how much memory is supported on the mobo? I'm thinking 512mb, but just to make sure. Also, what type of RAM is supported if I want to upgrade?

Thanks for your help!

The clamshell iBook can take a 512 Mb PC100 low profile module for 544 to 576 Mb total (depending on which model and what is soldered on).

Do you know if this ram would work?

Or recommend where the best place in the uk is to get a 512mb module for a ibook clamshell 466mhz?

Thanks

Oh dear just noticed this is in the macbook pro forum. I did a search for clamshell memory and found this thread. Sorry it's not in the ibook forum.

Feel free to move it if mods can :)
