ThinkSecret: 10.4.11 On The Way

No details are given, but TS is reporting that 10.4.11 is in the works. No huge surprise here, given that we're still several months away from Leopard.

I find it amusing that ARD still says that all our boxes are running 10.4.9.

After reading about USB external disk mounting problems, I have skipped 10.4.10. "If it ain't broken..." motto coming back to me.

This is coming from ThinkSecret and 10.4.11 is going to arrive sooner or later, so this could easily be a speculation rather than a rumor.

Perhaps the update correcting the issues with airport and MacBooks is what they took to be 10.4.11. Just a thought.

Mac OS X 10.4.11 In the Works?

ThinkSecret briefly claims that Apple will released another Tiger (10.4) update:
Quote:
Apple is preparing to release another update to Tiger ahead of Leopard's release, Think Secret has learned, although details of the Mac OS X 10.4.11 update are otherwise scarce at the moment.

Usually they release one last update before the next OS comes out, for compatibility I think, so this makes sense.. and dang does OS X need it, too! The OS (at least for me) feels like with each update it gets less and less stable

No, they'll release 10.4.11 just before 10.5 IMO like with the previous few releases.

I beleive that 10.4.11 will come out. Right now what is the bigest thing we lacking with 10.4.10?

I think its new Video Card Drives

Im sure they can fit 1 more update to 10.4.10

AppleInsider also has an article up with a few more thoughts on 10.4.11.

Really? I have not had a problem with any of my Macs regardless of the version of Tiger that they were running.

Reading between the lines, to me this means new Macs very soon, hence why another OS update is required...

I'm betting gesture support ahead of 10.5 in the new iMacs and Displays.

Redesigned iMacs would be nice and the Mac Mini is long over due for an internal overhaul.

Just google around...

How about fixing their wireless drivers that kernel panic when on batteries with certain non-apple brands of routers?

Hopefully they actually do some thorough testing on this one.
