Non-destructive partitioning tool?

The only one I know of is FWB's Partition Toolkit. It's not Mac OS X compatible (I don't think), and I have not tested. Proceed with caution .. and please ... have a backup:

Edit .. oops .. I didn't realize you were talking about a Firewire hard drive. I was wrong, Partition Toolkit does not currently support Firewire hard drives. Sorry .. 🙁

why partition it, GUI? most of us here will tend to tell everyone not to partition drives if it's not absolutely necessary.
A number of reasons:
1. Because I've used the disk as a middleman for cloning a disk, and because I've used it as a backup before reformatting a drive with a screwed up system, I have probably half a dozen working and non-working OS's, ranging from 8.6.1 to 9.2.2, and from 10.0.3 to 10.2.1.
2. I want to put two clean systems on it for troubleshooting.
3. A friend of mine went to WWDC, but can't afford to install Panther in case it screws up his system. So we figured we could install it on my FireWire drive, and use it from there, but then my 1st reason for wanting a separate partition becomes an issue; we have no idea what kind of conflicts there will be with the remnants of the old OS's.
