iTunes is not producing any sound. When I play a song, the time counter begins counting down but I can't hear anything. The sound in OS X works fine as I can view YouTube videos, Adium produces sounds, etc. Any ideas?

I'm running on a PowerBook G4, Mac OS X 10.4.10, and everything has been updated.

Thanks.

I know this may sound stupid, but in the bottom right of your iTunes make sure the drop down menu says "computer". You'll find this dropdown menu to the left of the "eject" button.

Happened to me and couldn't figure out why.... Idiots! It usually means you have another audio source like Apple TV or something.

Hope this helps!
