347 MB download

I'll be glad when it is finally available through system update should bring the required download sizes down a lot. 347 MBs is just ridiculous.

Is this still beta? Doesn't say in the title.

Edit: Yes is is. can you update the article so it says beta somewhere.

Wow, yeah, I agree, I'm not downloading that! I'm gonna wait until Leopard to do so.

virtualization OS X

I wonder if there is anything in there to hint at a change in Apple's policy toward Virtual environments.

I bet that Apple is going to announce a licensing change to allow Mac OSX to be installed legally in a virtual environment.

Well the time i did it i had no other computer or computer parts in the house and it was midnight so couldn't borrow.. Loaded into windows and nothing would work, keyboard wouldn't work or mouse.. i couldn't even shutdown lol. I was thinking for hours that I now cant do bugger all till the morning when ill have to buy a cheap USB keyboard.

Then remembered i had a cheap, old tablet. managed to get it booted into OS X. then thought im not going through that again and took bootcamp off lol.

Maybe ill attempt it again one day.

I haven't installed it yet, but I'm liking the improved international keyboard support already. Updated graphics drivers sounds nice as well.

Edit:
Why is this just a Page 2 posting?

It's not iPhone related I jest I jest!

Downloading it on the Windows side. 300mb? pshh. Unlimited bandwidth and always-on broadband me cares not for big downloads. Even on 512kbps I just hope some of the keyboard flaws, namely lack of BT syncing after a crash, is resolved.

No 64 bit windows support yet?
Annoying as the entire mac line up has 64 bit processors.

I'm hoping for video out support for my MBP (with little hope). I downloaded this, then realized that its been months since I descended into Windows. Makes you really question if the 20 GB for Vista are worth it. Probably not, but I've got a class coming up that requires .net IDE, so oh well.

Does anyone know whether the Vista X1600 drivers support HDCP yet? At the moment it's either HD DVD support (XP) or Halo 2 support (Vista) but I can't use both under the same OS. I can't wait for native HD DVD support in Leopard

The X1600 doesn't support HDCP.

Well in that case I would like to rephrase my question. Do the Vista drivers support whatever it is that is missing for HD DVD playback?

I have a problem.
After updating to 1.4, I cannot login because of activation issue.
When I try to login, it shows up pop up windows saying that my windows need to be activated.
So, I click yes, and then "activate windows" window appears and then just hang in there.
The activation window doesn't have any content (no text, no button etc.) so neither I can move on nor go back. All I can do is shutting down the computer.
However, it is still ok to run the boot camp volume with paralles or VMWare.
I just don't know how to login to boot camp... Any idea on this issue?

Do you have an ATI card? I noticed that they don't ship the ATI display software with the Boot Camp CD... but you can google Boot Camp ATI Display Driver or something like that... there is a special version of the ATI Catalyst Control Center for Macs in Windows XP/Vista that will let you control external monitors, etc. properly.

Hope that helps...

the real release will only be avaliable with leopard...im not actually sure if they are going to sell it seperately, seems like a stupid idea i dont think they will.

Is 300meg classed as a big download? Fair enough.

Why on earth would that come into it?

They've said bootcamp comes as part of Leopard, so I'm going to guess it's just a feature of the operating system. So when you get Leopard, you get bootcamp as part of it.
