9 minute video, minus the 1:30 minute advert/intro. Seriously. How annoying. And he doesn't even turn the iMac on.

Ditto - thanks for the warning...

If I'm gonna watch 9 minutes of video, it better be really good porn,
or a sexy turned on iMac...shimmering, chiming and churning!

So is it true then that there is no place to store the remote? That is lame, if so. Apple couldn't have screwed that up.

I hope that's not the case. I plan on buying one once Leopard is released and that is one feature I really like. Without the magnetic one on my iMac I probably would have lost the remote about a year ago.

Is anyone else cringing when he throws everything around? I just unboxed an old-school 17" yesterday and I was very gentle.

If there is, I haven't found it yet

I scratched up the back of my remote in the process though

This guy is a jerk, he didn't even sound like he really knew much about the product. Not only that but who the hell wants to see it unboxed!?

Its the same as every other imac in how its boxed! We don't need a video about unpacking it we'd rather have a video of you running it!

Not only that but he handles it kinda rough which makes him a bigger jerk

Yup. I was especially nervous when he took everything out of the box sideways. Clearly, the iMac was meant to be taken out of the box standing up, while on the floor.

Wasn't just me who was expecting a big bump noise when he took the top styrofoam bit out then.
OTOH, kudos to apple, it's really well packaged to withstand being on it's side with only the bottom bit of polystyrine supporting it and it held steady.

I'm very close to buying one of these new imacs as my first ever desktop mac (I currently have a 12" G4 powerbook and a windows desktop PC). I haven't used a desktop mac since pre-G3.

I have to admit, I was a little bit dissapointed by the remote magnet too! ...It's one of those inane little touches that I was looking forward too. It doesn't have to be powered up first does it?

Y'know, it's sooo much better to unbox a shiny new iMac yourself rather than watch a video of someone else unboxing one...

I just can't wait to get my own iMac. It's coming around 1. september. Only 10 days or so. My first Mac ever, but not the first time I'll be sitting behind a Mac, because I've done that many times. My old crappy Windows PC has done it's job, but that's a job my coming new iMac will do a thousand times better, at least.
I'm really looking forward to see how well the Logic musicprogrammes are working on it.

Heh, that would be quite funny, turn your mac off and the remote falls to the floor.

In the time it takes this uneventful video to run, I can drive to an Apple store and actually have a hands-on experience.

My only gripe is the massive amount of reflection from the glass. It looks pretty, but when i have to see my ugly mug looking back at me while I work.

The reflection is only noticable when the screen is OFF (all black)...Once the screen comes to life with all that rich colour the glare virtually disappears.

Well, I'm happy to say that I proudly unboxed my own 20" iMac last night!

... I wouldn't enjoy watching a video of it, though. I spent a good minute or two picking away at taped plastic and seams, and I don't see how you would enjoy watching someone else doing it.

The new iMac is beautiful.
