Hopefully this is in the right section.... I'm looking to do the following in automator and cant quite figure out how to do it...

1. Open a specific web page
2. Refresh it
3. Close it... or continue to refresh every X minutes...

I have managed to open it, thats it! any help would be appreciated

After you've gotten to that point, I'd suggest trying the Record feature in Automator, then just click refresh (or close or whatever else you want to happen to the window)

This should record the action of, for example, "refresh the safari window". I don't have a lot of experience with Record, but it may do the trick. Good luck
