is it possible buy headset w/o dock?

I don't think you can. One of the selling points seems to be the dual-charging dock.

If you're looking for a reliable, inexpensive headset look at the Jabra JX-10. Very small, light, great sound quality, long battery life, and you can find it for under $100.
