What is the best free word processor for Mac OS X?

i was just wandering what the best free word processor for mac os x, and i dont want microsoft word, but i want one for college that is easy to use and all around good, thanks guys

Gah, there are sixty thousand threads about this. If you don't want to spend any money, and you'll be in a college / university setting, just get NeoOffice.

Have you tried NeoOffice? It's like OpenOffice but designed for Mac.

NeoOffice is good, but it's slow and not the prettiest program I've used.

I've heard good things about Bean:

Never tried it myself, but it's free and looks nice.

openoffice now has an alpha of aqua version, no X11 needed.
