Alright...I know this isn't the best place to ask this, but its worth getting some opinions on before I do something.
I have a 37" Sceptre 1080p HDTV, here is the input layout. I despise this TV only because the lack of inputs, but I knew that before buying, and everything else about it is awesome.
I connect my MBP to it through a DVI - HDMI cable to get 1920x1200. It works great as the secondary screen for keeping safari etc. on or for using CS3/Aperture on from across the room...albeit not for color sensitive jobs.
I have my 360 hooked up through its component cables so I can get 1080p in games and 720p (or 480i) in DVDs.
That knocks out the Component and HDMI in, but I still have my Comcast HD box to hook up. I am currently using it through coaxial, but that takes most of the HD benefits away.
My question is which of these would be better:
1) Get a Component Switch so i can hook my 360 and Comcast into it then to the TV Component?
2) Get a Component to VGA Cable to hook the Comcast to the VGA input? But then what about audio?
3) Use the DIV-D out on the Comcast box with a DVI-D to HDMI Cable and then hook my MBP up with the HDMI to VGA adapter + VGA Cable? What about audio?
Option 1 is looking the best.
Right now option 3 can not work because for some reason my TV will not completely accept the HDMI/HDCP/DVI signal or my Comcast HD isn't putting out a steady signal through its DVI-D.
