The Beat Goes On: Nano, Touch, Beatles, Wireless?

Now that Apple has invited select media to the a press event which will take place on September 5th, 2007, it seems clear that Apple's iPods will finally see updates.

While we typically steer clear of mock-ups of upcoming Apple devices, in the months leading into this event, there have been a number of potential leaks about the upcoming iPods. Based on this information, we've found these mockups which closely depict what has been rumored:

I hope they at least have FM tuners and bluetooth.

And the shuffle will see a 2GB black model, I hope.

If the iPod looks anything like the mock up, it's going to be fookin' sexy.

If the iPod Nano looks anything like the mock up, it's an abomination of design.

Forget just remote controlling iTunes. Imagine you have an Airport Express hooked up to your home theater. Not only would it be cool to control iTunes on a Mac in another room, your wireless iPod or a visiting wireless iPod streams music to the Airport as well.

I am looking forward to this press event with as much enthusiasm as I do when I wait for Macworld/WWDC conferences.

Who cares about the Beatles on iTunes?

Am I the only one to be tired to read about the imminent addition of the Beatles to iTunes?

I don't deny it is one of the best bands ever (if not the best), but c'mon... Is it material for repeated breaking news?

obviously there are a lot of people excited about this. hence, it is always breaking news. i hope you understand the benefit of buying certain song for 99 cents as supposed to buying a whole cd

+1

It may be a big deal (big money maker) for Apple, but it is really not a big deal for the end-user..

If an iPod owner wants the Beatles on their iPod, How hard is it to go out, buy a CD and upload it to their iTunes Library?

"The Beat Goes On" is also the rumored title of Madonna's latest track that has leaked on the internet this week. It is my understanding that this album for her is largely produced by Timberland & Justin Timberlake and is VERY different for her. Think Rihanna meets Gwen Stafani sprinkled with the beats of Justin and Timberland. I've heard the track, it's pretty hot. Who knows...maybe this will tie in as well? Steve and Madonna have worked well together before....just a thought.

Not cool that MacRumors is linking to a site that is NSFW....

I clicked on that KezNews site and it had pornographic images in the upper right... (I believe it was an adultfriendfinder ad with naked women) I think that link should be removed.

'Appleinsider notes that "The beat goes on." tag-line that appears on Apple's media invitation is likely a reference to the Beatles.'

or sonny and cher AT LAST!!!! heh

I guess I could sort of see a desire for an FM tuner, but I honestly don't see an iPOD getting an FM tuner ever. It's too retro for Apple. Like a touch screen rotary dial for the iPhone.

If I have an iPOD, I would think I have most of my favorite music with me. It would be nice to tune into a sporting event or talk radio though. The more I talk about it, the more it sounds like an "old man" feature.

As for bluetooth, I would rather Apple never create another bluetooth device again. They made the absolute WORST bluetooth headset for their iPhone. I don't think think I could imagine bluetooth headsets.

I also think the white earbuds have become a trademark of the iPod. You won't see an iPod with cordless earbuds for a while.
