Such as MSN, yahoo, and such.

Also if it cant, can adium look up my email to see if i have new meesages, like trillian did for windows?

yes. there are step-by-step instructions on how to set this up on apple's support site. see this article first, then click on the "set up the accounts" link within that article.

fyi - apple has great information on their site already - you'll probably get the best results by going right to the source for instructions like this if you search there first.
