The fastest speed you have driven at?

Inspired by iJon's new car --
What's the fastest speed you have driven at yourself ?

For me, that would be 200 km/h (~ 120 mph). I had borrowed a Mazda MX-5 and made a nice trip with a friend. Didn't drive too long at that speed, though' since with a convertible, it is nicer to drive around 140 km/h (~ 84 mph).

The fastest I've ever driven was about 125mph in my V6 Camry a few years ago.

In my current Matrix, I've barely broken 105mph.

About 105 mph. Probably going to try and break it this weekend in France (as you do not get points on your license when caught there!)

whoa. we've got lots of people here that like to go fast!

the most i've gone is about 130... km/h. i'm still only on my provisional license, so if i got caught i think my license would be suspended for about a year or something. that would be a major bummer.

but when i get my motorbike... that's a completely different story. i'll be taking that beast to lots & lots of track days.

about 120 mph (the speedometer only goes to 80, this is estimating) on a '78 Nova, believe it or not... before that, 111, but I was a passenger. I think that was a dodge dynasty.

I've been at 215 km/h (135 mph) in two different cars - once was my bro's 300 ZX, the other was the 88' Toyota Supra.

I have only been about 180 km/h in my Solara - I cringe at all of the bugs that get smeared on the car when you go that fast!

Fastest I have been is around 100 in a Dodge Ramcharger. The Speedometer in the Dodge only goes to 83, but I had my friend in front of me in a Toyota Tercel. It would have been faster, but I only had 1/2 of a mile of straight road. (Before a 90 degree turn)

Possibly 105 in a '92 Lincoln Continental. For some reason they stopped the digital speedometer at 85 mph (too many manufacturers do that). It's got a solid V6 in it and can get going quite fast, I just won't know how fast that is.

But this pure zero is the nothing of not having been born. There is no individual thing, no compulsion, outward nor inward, no law. It is the germinal nothing, in which the whole universe is involved or foreshadowed. As such, it is absolutely undefined and unlimited possibility -- boundless possibility. There is no compulsion and no law. It is boundless freedom.

Back in 97 I bought a brand new Z28 and my dad bought a new vette. He said, lets go found out how fast your Z will go. I said, okay if we can take your vette out next. My Z would only do 151, but his vette would do 172. Now that I have a daughter, I would never do that again...

I drove 110 mph in my dad's 1965 Ford Mustang on I-89 last summer. It was around midnight and I wouldn't dare drive that dast during the day.

heh - I used to have a BIG ramcharger with a 16" lift kit and BIG 44" mudders - it was the original Mudbug (where my name really came from, btw - it was my license plate) If the one you were driving was anything like mine, then 100 mph in it scared you witless - mine would start to shimmy and shake a good bit at anything over 80, but mostly from the soft tires...

I've done 150 in a Ferrari 308 GTB (think Magnum PI) that a friend owned when I was growing up in Baton Rouge - I want to try it again, in something just as supersweet...

I don't know... My POS Taurus only reads up to 85, but I estimate 95, in Michigan, where if you're going 85, You'll get run over.

As A Passenger 115 on US23 Between Flint, MI and M-56.

And 175 in a Piper Cherokee, over my hometown.

130 mph regularly in a new 1980 Ford Mustang Turbo. It took all day to get there but it would hold the high end.

I got up to 110 mph in a subaru station wagon, over a hundred in that thing a few times. Now I drive a saturn, so it can't go that fast (and I wouldn't trust it if it could). I've been in a car with my friend driving at over 120 mph in his '87 BMW 535is. crazy thing about that car was that you would feel the back end settle in at about 120 mph. It was more stable at that speed than at 110 or 100 it felt like. My next car will likely be a subaru wrx. and that sucker flies, so we'll have to see then.

In my Ford Probe GT, I've hit 120+, the speedometer only goes up to 120 but it goes much faster so I can't tell since I buried the needle long before I let off the gas...it was on an onramp outside of Orlando merging onto I-75 I believe. In my dad's Malibu, I've hit the max, 105, I hate those rev limiters! In my friend's Porsche 911, I hit 90 something before hitting a puddle and spinning...in his Lamborghini, I hit about 215 mph, though. It was on his dad's runway so we had lots of room to get up to speed. In my parent's Aztek, I hit maybe 95, the thing took forever to get up there. And in my boss' Mustang GT I hit 110. I love cars!

There's just no way that a '78 Nova did 120mph. Unless it was seriously hopped up.

Me, I've a Porsche 928 that regularly hits 130 on the onramp to the expressway early in the morning. Heh.

Three seperate occations.

A friend of mine in college had a Ferrari 512 BB. We got it up to 174MPH going to Birmingham on I20/59

I had a Taurus SHO with a SuperCharger and personally got it up to 168MPH, and Eye, you will know this road. Between Baton Rouge and Lafayette.

Going to Arizona in 1988, my Mustang GT 5.0 with SuperCharger 163MPH going across the Texas desert on I-10. Wow, there is nothing in west Texas from San Antonio to El Paso. Well, Ft. Stockton and Van Horn

I had a 78 Nova Custom with a 350 and 4 barrel stock, and it would do 126.

In my friends boxster we got to about 135 going down to school and we kept it there for like ten minutes but then we were afraid of getting pulled over. Nothing like making a 2hr trip in 1 hr 10 minutes
