Please Help - How to transfer from Canon Video Camera to mac...

Hey yall...i could really use some help here...i have a canon xha1 video camera, it records to mini dv and i am trying to transfer the video from the mini dv's to my computer? I am new to this and can't get it to work? What am i suppose to do to get it to transfer, i have it plugged in from the hdv/dv out to my firewire port...thats all...please help if you can....

Are you trying to use iMovie or Final Cut (Express/Pro)?
For iMovie, the process is this:
start iMovie
plug in DV camera using Firewire
import video (click on 'import button')

What have you tried so far?

im sure the manual would tell you...


btw, why would you get such a high end camera if you dont know how to capture? not trying to be rude, its just that is a pretty basic thing for anyone who has ever used a computer to edit video.
