I know Apple likes the "pure and clean" look of the iPod, but they've made several notable exceptions. During their partnership with HP, the HP logo adorned the back of many iPods, and the U2 ipods had the signatures of the band members on the back (while I admit this is cool, I personally thought it looked messy).

Following this train of thought, why not enhance the offerings of the engraving service? Add symbols, so that the iPod could feel more personal. Great suggestions would be:

*School crests (didn't one school already do this?)
*Religious symbols
*popular cartoon characters
*Sports team logos
*images of popular cat/dog breeds
*Auto logos (hey, Apple is working with car stuff lately...)

The nice thing is, Apple could have complete control, so it'd still look "clean"
