G5 or PowerBook?
During April I was about to get a G4 PowerPC but I decided to wait for the G5.
My local store is about to have the G5 in stock, but a couple of friends told me that a PowerBook would be better for me, however I dont know if the PowerBook will live up to my expectations. Will I be able to do the following with average performance on a 12" PowerBook? (12", 15" is too big for me to carry around) Transfer video from my Sony IP-55 over FireWire and do slight video editing in Final Cut Pro 4, or Final Cut Express. Burn DVD's Do quite a lot of Photoshop work and web design. FlashMX Maybe Maya for 3D Modelling later on If I can do all that on the 12" PowerBook with decent performance then I'll get it, since I want a Mac and a Laptop, and the PowerBook is both. Thanks in Advance!

In short, yes. That is what the powerbook is designed for, I'm guessing the performance would be acceptable

Maya 3D modelling would be a pain. The 12" PB is only a 867MHz without the L3 cache. I would wait and see if the oft rumored update happens soon. If they put a 1GHz with L3 cache, it would be perfect for you, me thinks.
Everything else would probably be fine though.
