U.S. and Australian PowerBook powersupply differences?

i'm just wondering, if i buy a PowerBook from a shady sounding guy in Italy, will i be able to plug it into the power supply (240 V) over here without any problems?

the internals should be ok, right? will i just need a new power adapter?
 
Sure dude, no problem, you will just need an Australian to America power adaptor (not transformer). My iBook and PowerBook have no issues.

I'm in NZ, we use the same power system as Australia. I've got a US power supply, and all it needs is a "prong adapter" to convert the plug to the A/NZ one. You don't need to do any voltage conversion or anything.

I think this would be a good time to note that the PowerBook's warranty is only valid if you buy from an authorised reseller.

If you have purchased a brand new PORTABLE Apple product (defined as a product that can run indepentantly of a power cord) from any Apple Authorised Reseller in the world, you will be covered under Apple's Global Warranty agreement. This agreement makes sure that you will not end up paying for the repair of your product wherever in the world you have it serviced.

Edit: Unless of course it's second hand and the warranty's already expired.
