Exporting bookmarks FROM Safari?

i've everywhere in the options and it seem nigh on impossible, i've looked on version tracker for a 3rd party program but nothing.

How do you export the bookmarks from Safari? In firebird its a simple menu option in the bookmark manager, why isn't it so in Safari?
