nice pics and nice purchase!

I don't think your screen has the yellow, it looks great. And if you want to make the colors "pop" out more, you could try changing the color profile (that's what I did, and the colors look sharper).

For now, just enjoy your new Mac!

Whilst I am at the buying stage of getting a MBP, I was just wondering if these MBP's have any sort of intake fans on the underside of the laptop.

The only reason being is that in those nice screen shots, it looks like there is something 'protecting' the bottom of the laptop. I would hate for your nice and shiny new mbp to over heat due to this fact and not say something.

Congrats on your purchase, I am due to order my own and first Mac at the end of the month, or possibly once Lepoard has been launched. Either way, enjoy.

if you dont see any screen problems, then i wouldnt even go digging to see which manufacturer you got...

but if you really want to know, go to apple, system preferences, display, color, select 'color lcd', then click open profile. scroll down to line 13 and click on it. then tell us what it says in the 'Model' field below...

Welcome to the club. I pity you though when you get your first scratch; it's always the toughest to swallow. I bought my first Mac last Xmas as well and it too was a MBP. Babied it like you are doing now now but scratches are inevitable.

She's beautiful. Add another 2GB of memory because inner beauty is important as well :)

There are no vents on the underside of the MBP. The only vents are at the back behind the screen hinge. However, you should place it on a flat surface so that the rubber feet can elevate it slightly. This allows airflow under the laptop to help dissipate heat.
