Airport Extreme - Freezes at airdisk write
Hi!
I got a problem with my new Airport Extreme. I have a WD 500 GB connected to it. Formatted with FAT32 and accessed by XBox Media Center (read only, LAN access) and Vista (primary write access and via WLAN) Reading from the airdisk is no problems. I can stream video through the LAN but writing is another thing. When I try to write large amounts of data (either by coping a large file or by starting a bittorrent), the airdisk will disappear after a while and sometimes even the whole Airport freezes. The LED is still green but the Airport does not respond and I loose internet connection Is this a known problem/fault? Regards --Jarl |

I tried to copy over my iTunes folder to backup on my AirDisk and the same thing happened. Large writes causing the drive to drop is quite common.
Reading and stream otherwise work well.
