I have one that just appears as a light grayish dot, it's very small and I only noticed it recently. Not bad for over 4 years of use, I must say.

2 y/o iceBook, all pixels accounted for, but the lower right corner seems to be brighter than the rest of the display just after lifting the lid -- regardless of whether it's been in hibernation or is being cold booted.

I've got a 14" iBook with 2 dead pixels. One's in the menu bar on the right, the other's near the bottom-left of the screen. They're not very noticeable though, except when watching a widescreen movie.

I got a 22in from apple when they first came out.

About a month into it i noticed that i have 50 hot pixels.

I sent it in a few months later and they sent it back "fixed"

The fixed one had wires hanging out of it and 2-500 hot pixles. I sent that back.

After a few week of not having it they called and said that shipped a new one to me (refurb)

The refurbed arrived (also with many dead pixels) next day an other one comes to my door step, they sent me 2 of them, both bad... by this time the connection on the new ones where ADC and i had dvi on mine and my computer... after sending them both back, i was contacted by someone high up from apple.

She told me that she was going to send me a brand new one. I told her that my computer could not use a adc one. She called back later that day and told me to send my computer in (a 450) and my display and she would then send me a new 22in and a new 533 g4... I did, she did... I was told that this was not normal but they take care of people who spend $4000 on a display.

The new one has 3 dead pixels and i could NOT be more happy.

I use that display to this day.

but the 2 times they tried to fix my screen took almost 3 weeks each.

I have a NEC Multisync 1760v and have no dead pixels. This screen is absolutely awesome. The screen quality is way better than the Apple 17" (mine has 450:1 contrast ratio and the Apple has 350:1) and the pixel response rate is really great for gaming (16ms NO BLURRING!). I love this screen. I have the brightness turned down to 30% and it's still to bright. Even though it is on VGA I still think it has better picture quality than most DVI LCD's. It's great .

It was way cheaper too! I got it on Newegg.com for $391 after $20 rebate (not including shipping).

PowerBook Lombard 400 with all the pixels working fine for the past 4 years.

And it has travelled PLENTY (all 50 states and at least 20 countries; more than once for most). No easy desk job for this PowerBook.
