A simple way to make your own ringtones...

Think it is very close to what I posted in another thread. Might be the same thing. VERY EASY and works great!

I use this with a script a user put together called MakeRingtone. Works GREAT!

just download it, drag AtomicParsley to your applications folder, and then drag whatever songs you want to make ringtones out of onto the MakeRingtone application.

for the temp file, just rename it [song]_ringtone.m4a or whatever you want, that's the ringtone version
Just take that "temp" file it created, rename it to what you want, click and play it. iTunes will add it to your Ringtones and you can sync it to your iPhone, delete, etc. Works just as if you purchased it.

With your method you must make your ringtone on your own (manually) and it must have the filename end in .m4a.
My scripts allow you to do the whole process through iTunes (and a short step in GarageBand) with any file format (as long as GarageBand can read it). Just select a song in iTunes and turn it into a ringtone via the script menu. It'll take you to GarageBand to edit it to your hearts content, and then you end up right back in iTunes with the Ringtone installed.
Doesn't really matter how you do it, as they both produce the same results.

Didn't look that close at it! Sounds good! I'll give it a go tonight. I'm just happy to see that we have the option for "free" ringtones.
Odd how some of this wasn't locked a bit tighter.
Could someone test out my scripts and confirm that it works on their iphone? I'd really like to know how things work.
