Hi all,

The new iChat AV provides excellent quality for video conferencing. I'm wondering if anyone knows which company (maybe apple itself) provided the codec for video. I know it's H263 based.

I thought I remembered Steve Jobs saying it was an "open standard" (not open source) that other companies could use (license) to create compatible clients. I would have to imagine that it's Quicktime6/MPEG4 based.

edit: No, you're right. It apparently is H.263 based. Not much info around about it though. You might look at this.
