This came up in another thread, but I thought it deserved its own dedicated one:
When I turn my Touch off (full power-off), then turn it back on, it eats the battery.
This has already happened several times. Just today, turned it off around 8:45 AM with 50% battery. Now (12:12 PM), turned it on, and my half-green bar was replaced with a thin red sliver, and I got the "low battery - 20% warning." Then, after clearing the warning, it's back "up" to a white bar showing 25-30%.
Clearly, there's something in the power-down & reboot that's power intensive. It's NOT time-dependent: I've gotten the same problem whether powered down for 8 hours or 3.5.
Others finding this too?
ADDITION: Just tried it again - a power-down & power-up 5 min. after the last. Again, got the battery red status & warning message. Then, after a minute or so, it's white again - but noticeably less so than the last time, now less than 1/4th. You could probably take a topped-off device and get it down to 50% by doing this a few times - say, the number of times you might have to turn on & off on a flight with a few connections?
