How do you use the Mac as your FTP client/server?

I found this tutorial on how to to use your mac as a ftp client/server.

So I was able to do step 1 and 2, but when I try to push 'connect,' nothing happens.

I am trying to upload audio content from my hard drive to turn into podcasts that I can put on my blog. I can only post podcasts that have a url.

Please advise...
