iTunes constantly quitting/starting

For some reason my iTunes will not quit. When the computer starts up it automatically opens (its not a login item) and if I try to quit it will immeadiately start back up. Now it also "unexpectedly quits" every time I try to edit song info or convert using the mp3 codec. Anyone ever heard of this before?
