Does anyone out there know how long the powermac G4 will be available? I want to purchase G5's but as long as the G4 is available money talks and performance means nothing I will be expected to buy the G4.

My guess would be that G4's will be available until we see a Rev B of G5's, which will likely be announced January 2004. However who knows what Apple is thinking. At some point they will have to let OS9 bootability die and it seems to me that is not to far off.

Yeah, maybe they're waiting till the G5 is widespread available and in stock at all their dealers. Probobly somewhere in october/november.
I bet ya, it will fade away, and someone over here at MacRumors will suddenly post a new thread: "No more G4's at Apple Store"...
It will be a funny day... we have had the G4 towers for 4 years now. You get so accustomed to them.😉
