Rezet macrumors 6502a Original poster Aug 27, 2003 #1 I just checked out crucial site for g5 1.6 upgrade and it offers 3200 memory and 2700... Does that mean I can put either in? Also, can i use the memory that is sold in circuit city? it looks pretty much the same... 512, PC2700 etc...?

G5orbust macrumors 65816 Aug 27, 2003 #2 it uses 128-Bit DDR333/PC2700 (333MHz) DDR-SDRAM. It was probably just listing both G5 memort types under the same umbrella or they made a mistake. Im almost positive that DDR400 is not backwards compatable with DDR333 machines, but I could be wrong.

KentuckyApple macrumors regular Aug 27, 2003 #3 Any PC2700 RAM should work. Don't bother at all with PC3200 for your 1.6 because it is more expensive.
