eMac Hard Drive Temp

I was wondering what the 'normal' operating temp for the hard drive in an emac is supposed to be. According to iStat, the hdd in mine is currently running at 77 degrees C. It has only been on for about an hour and a half. I'm pretty sure no hard drive should operate at this temp. Also, do you have any ideas on how to cool the drive some?

Yeah, I opened it up to find the fan not plugged in. It now runs at a much cooler 40 degrees C.
