I just sold my Psp and had a little money lieing around so i am getting a iTouch. I used my Psp for videos mostly. So, does anyone know of any iTouch converters for video that gives the video the full resolution? Thanks

Handbrake. Use the iPhone preset.

iSquint (free) or Visualhub (the not free bigger brother) are what you want to encode videos.

To rip directly from dvd, use Handbrake.

Get visual hub for converting avi's, flv's, and other formats, and handbrake can handle your dvd's. Visual hub isn't free, but thats not to say you can't get it for free, *cough* google *cough*, and handbrake is free but slow if your on a non intel mac aka me 🙁

CosmoPod

I downloaded cosmopod to convert realplayer and other videos to play on ipodtouch. I have used isquint but i think this is faster. Does anyone else use this? thanks tim

Ohhh come on, Its 23 dollars. I can (kinda) understand the excuses for getting things like Photoshop, but stealing VisualHub is just slack and downright immoral.

Do yourself a favour and Buy It - You'll get a warm fuzzy feeling inside, I promise

VisualHub is a great program, the best video converter I've used on Mac. It's definitely worth the $23 too.

Can we have a sticky of this please?

i have no idea how often this has come up already

N.B.
VisualHub
Handbrake
Mac the Ripper

for windows there are winmenc 0.7 beta and xvid4psp, which allow for quality-based encoding to h.264, which is the best encoding method to get small files with excellent quality.
nero recode also supports quality-based encoding (there called ipod avc) but is not free.
