I just got a new computer so I had to download the new version of iTunes and put all of my songs back onto iTunes. I connected my iPod to update it and it says that I have to restore it to the original settings so I leave it and let it restore. My iPod turns off then turns back on but then once iTunes recognizes it again it gives me the same message that I need to restore it. What is wrong here?

Its a 30 GB Video which is gen 5 or 5.5 i dont know the difference i got it last year at christmas
