iPod touch now that we can ftp into the touch, is it possible to backup everything?

i'm planning to return my week 37 for a later week. now that i can ftp into it, if i copy everything in there and put it into the new ipod, will the new one be a clone of my current one that is to be returned?

I wouldnt do it. Some codes may not work the same on 2 different iPods.

i'd imagine every ipod to be identical...

You would think, but I've already noticed that multiple iPods have had different drive names. I imagine there are other small changes as well with each small hardware revision.

well i tried, i couldn't copy everything out of the touch. the ftp client would said no response from the ipod after a while...
