iTunes Plus songs to start selling at $0.99 per track?

iLounge is reporting that some iTunes Plus (ie: DRM-Free 256kbps AAC) tracks are selling at $0.99 instead of $1.29.

Bands who have $0.99 iTunes Plus tracks include:
Could Apple be changing the price of iTunes Plus tracks tomorrow (New Music Tuesday) to compete with Amazon.com's Music Store? Or is it just Apple doing a sale?

Ooh, just checked an album* I was thinking about getting and all the tracks are iT+ and they are 99¢ each. Oooh. Tempted.

:edit: And and and and-- with the limited Facebook free 5 iTMS song codes, it didn't matter if the songs were Plus or not; might have been foreshadowing this change in pricing.

Another thing I just noticed.

Looks like these albums are on indie labels, not EMI. Could the iTunes Plus catalog be expanding real soon (ie: tomorrow)?

Some more hints?

Frank Black's 93-03 CD shows up as iTunes Plus, but none of the tracks have the + logo next to them when you view the album (and they list for $0.99 per track).

Band of Horses shows up as iTunes Plus with $0.99 iTunes Plus tracks.

I reported this ages ago on mactalk.com.au. Even took a screenshot of The Go Team's new album being in the iTunes Plus format:

Oh, just a little addition to my purchase of The Go! Team's Proof of Youth album - If you have a look at my image just a few posts up, you'll see that it's in iTunes Plus' unprotected, 256kb format.

Go have a look at it on the iTunes Store - Notice the track prices?

Yeah, that's right. They're $1.69. Not $2.19. How curious.
That's in Australian dollars, by the way. And they didn't have the little + icon next to the tracks, either.
