Just upgraded to Leopard!

I can't figure out how to get rid of the "sync" icon that installs itself by default into the toolbar in the upper-right hand corner of the screen. I don't have a .Mac account, so it's completely useless to me. Is there some way to shut it off?

Have you tried simply Command-dragging it off there? That works to remove most of the Apple menu bar icons so it might do the trick for you here.

System Preferences > .Mac

Dorean, the preference panel doesn't get that far until you log in with your .Mac account (which I can't, not having one 😉 ).

Jaffa: Thanks, it worked perfectly. That's a great tip to remember for the future.

Yeah that dawned on me shortly after I posted that. Glad you got it worked out though.

Go to system preferences then .mac, you can deselect 'show status in menu bar' there

Edit : too slow typing on EDGE 😉
